We welcome and encourage cosplay at SenpaiCon, just make sure that you follow these rules. The rules are in place to ensure the safety of yourself, other attendees and your surroundings.

  1. No real or functional weapons, or anything that could injure people or damage property.
    • No replica blades or projectile weapons such as BB guns, paintball guns, or airsoft guns
    • No metal blades whether sharp or blunt e.g. swords, knives, kunai, ice skates
    • No hard bats, paddles, clubs or tools e.g. baseball bats, golf clubs, iron pokers, crowbars, drills
    • No functional projectile weapons e.g. strung bows or crossbows
    • No sharp items e.g. arrows, bolts, protruding nails
    • No laser pointers
    • No chemical weapons, explosives, and incendiary devices e.g. mace, pepper spray. and no pressurised containers or gas canisters

  2. Realistic-looking weapons must be holstered, in a bag, pocket, or attached to your person unless posing for photographs. We’re in a central London venue with lots of non-con-goers nearby, and we don’t want to alarm people.

  3. Gun-like props must have a brightly coloured tip.

  4. No large, heavy props made of wood, metal or any other hard materials. Any larger props must be built using light materials such as foam, cardboard, papier mâché, etc. This is to ensure everyone’s safety.

  5. Edges of props should be rounded to prevent damage and injury.

  6. Please keep all props to a reasonable size. If you can’t wear or carry it down a narrow corridor or flight of stairs, it’s too big.

  7. Don’t wave props around. Be mindful of your surroundings and other people.

  8. No roller skates, rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles, go karts or other vehicles inside the venue.

  9. Attendees with props that don’t follow these rules will be asked to remove the props in question from the venue. If they don’t, the props will be held by the SenpaiCon committee and returned when the attendee leaves the event. Props are left with the committee at the owner’s risk, and SenpaiCon accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to props in our possession.
